If you frequent this blog, then you've probably figured out that Gatlinburg, Pigeon Forge, and the other cities in the Smoky Mountain region know all of the best ways to celebrate holidays. Easter is no different. If you're traveling to the Smokies during Easter weekend, then you're sure to discover plenty of festive activities to participate in! Here are a few of the more popular events that will be taking place this coming weekend.

Starting on April 1st and running through the 3rd, the Gatlinburg Arts & Crafts Community will be hosting their annual Easter Craft Show. Handcrafted and locally-produced goods will be on display and for sale for the duration of the craft show, so visitors will have lots of unique local goods to browse through and potentially take home!

Anakeesta will begin their new Blooms & Tunes program on April 2nd. Running through May 23, this new festival will feature huge, spring-themed art instillations as well as live music, gourmet food, and lots of flowers!

I'm particularly excited about the new Bunny Hopper Express. Organized by the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad, this special Easter train ride will only be available on April 2nd and 3rd. Each ride will last about 4.5 hours, departing from the historic Bryson City Depot and running along scenic Nantahala Gorge River to a special overlook where families can participate in Easter-themed activities including a traditional egg hunt.

If you've ever spent Easter in the Smokies, tell us about your favorite activities in the comments!
