Local Tips
Foliage peaks first at higher elevations (early October), then cascades into valleys (late October to early November). Weekdays are quieter than weekends! Dress in layers for it’s really cooler in the mountains, and plan early starts for the best light and fewer crowds. For weekly updates, follow the NPS Fall Color Report.
